Musicians, exhibitors, helpers sought for Recovery Day on Sept. 22

Organizers for Recovery Day Lancaster, a celebration of recovery from addiction, are seeking musicians, exhibitors, sponsors, volunteers and others to help with this family-friendly event on Sept. 22.

Recovery Day is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 22 in Buchanan Park, Race and Buchanan avenues, Lancaster, and will feature a barbecue picnic, musical entertainment, kids’ crafts and the annual Walk for Recovery. It is sponsored by the Lancaster County Recovery Alliance, a volunteer group of people in recovery and allies of recovery, including helping professionals and those affected by addiction and recovery.

The focus is to raise awareness and celebrate that recovery is a reality in our community and to welcome community members to learn about the facts relating to addiction and recovery.

Headlining the musical entertainment this year will be Apes of the State, a Lancaster-based band featuring folk, rock and punk music.

Anyone interested in supporting this event as sponsors, musicians, exhibitors and others is invited to call Amy Sechrist at (717) 299-2831, extension 235. People in recovery are invited to save the date and share the information with friends and family members.
